Some of the eggs are raised and taken to hatcheries by government organizations with dedicated to the protection of sea turtles in los cabos.
80% of sea turtle nestign in the state takes place on the beaches of Los Cabos, where three species nest: the Olive Ridley, the Leatherback and the Green sea Turtle.
Government organizations releases more than 500,000 sea turtles into the sea each year, but it is estimated that only one out of every thousand survives due to natural causes.
